About
David Smith is a location-based multimedia artist, photographer, and an instructor and Learning and Teaching Associate Fellow at the University of the West of England in Bristol.
Much of his work features the relation between place and community. This has largely manifested itself in Sediment. This ongoing project began in 2007 as a series of location-specific walks in the form of mobile apps guiding the visitor through the many layers of Victoria Park, in South Bristol. The project has also led to a number of related exhibitions. In 2011 David joined the international, trans-disciplinary group of artists, scholars and practitioners, Mapping Spectral Traces and has been involved with a number of conferences and events since then. He became a co-convener of the group in September 2013. |
